Welcome to Turf Tips. Let me start my introducing myself and my dedicated staff.

My name is Randy Durham, Greens Superintendent at Michigan City Municipal Golf Course since February 1987.

My full-time staff is the key to our success in having a beautiful golf facility, they include:

Paul McDonnell, Assistant Greens Superintendent
John Marshall, Assistant Greens Superintendent
John Riggs, Golf Mechanic
Mychal Moore, Golf Laborer

Together this team has over 100 years of experience in the golf maintenance industry.

We are very fortunate to also have a fantastic team of part-time / seasonal employees. This group is very diverse, but has one thing in common, that is to make our facility the best it can be.

Anytime you see any crew member on the course, give them a smile and a wave. They are the individuals that are responsible for your great day.

I will use this page to inform you on course conditions, special project updates and timely turf tips you can use at home.

My only tip at the present time is: “Don’t spend all our time sitting on the couch watching the Golf Channel, go get some exercise”. You will be glad you did come spring.
