Current Beach Conditions
Participants will be divided into age groups of ages 6-7, 8-9, and 10-11 daily. New
themes are adopted each week that will focus on providing children with a wide
spectrum of fun and educational activities. In addition, City Kids Day
Camp staff will facilitate organized activities including exercise, sports,
games, arts and crafts, field trips, and participation in the Summer Festival
Kiddie Parade. “SAFETY” demonstrations and guest speakers
include the M.C. Police and Fire Departments, and the Washington Park Lifeguards. Reading
opportunities with the M.C. Public Library and trips to the ZOO are on the
agenda as well.
The program is limited to 65 participants on a first-serve basis. Pre-registration
is required, which will take place at the Parks Lakefront Office on Monday,
April 28th through Friday, May 2nd from 1 pm to 5 pm. Age
verification with a birth or baptismal certificate is required to pre-register.
City
Kids Day Camp opens the week of June 16th and ends on August 8th. The
day camp schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (No camp
on July 4th). Please be sure to schedule camp arrangements in advance. Camp
leaders will leave with the campers and chaperones for all scheduled field
trips and special events.
