Tri State Race stops in Michigan City
Sailboat racers arrive in Michigan City and tie-up along the municipal dock adjacent to the Michigan City Coast Guard Station. Racers will depart Michigan City on Sunday. Arrival and departure times are weather dependent. For more information, contact Herb Philbrick at (219) 362-1407.

18th Annual Tower Run
The course takes participants through the scenic areas of the Michigan City beach communities and Washington Park. Race starts at 9 am from Washington Park’s parking lot 2. For more information, visit their website at www.toweronline.org/run.

Adopt-A-Beach Day
Meet at the pier in Washington Park. Volunteers that participate not only remove trash from shore lines and waterways but they also record their findings to be used in pollution prevention and education in the region and around the world. Click here for more information!

2nd Annual Rocktober Fest at the Senior Center 
Doors open at 5:30 pm. Music from 6:30 pm until 12 midnight. $2 cover charge. Food and beer available. For more information, contact the Michigan City Summer Festival committee at (219) 874-3630.

Oktoberfest at the Senior Center
A true celebration of a bountiful harvest including food, drinks, music and dancing. Open Saturday from 11 am until 11:30 pm and Sunday from 11 am until 6 pm. Menu includes ghoulash with spaetzel, brats with sauerkraut, warm German potato salad with bacon, boiled potatoes, frankfurters, German chocolate cake, black forest cake and German brews, wine and schnapps. Festival of Lights Parade
Bundle up and pick the perfect spot along Parker Parkway to watch parade participants bustle along their merry way. Santa kicks off the parade at 3:30 pm. For more information, contact the Michigan City Summer Festival committee at (219) 874-3630.

Toasty Bonfire
No chestnuts roasting here… just a good old-fashioned bonfire!  Mosey on over after the parade and warm up next to the roaring fire just west of the Jaycees stage. From 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm. For more information, contact the park office at (219) 873-1506.

Challenge for Charity Chili Cook-off
Bring the family down to the Dodgem Building to sample a variety of tasty chilis, which are donated and prepared by your City team. From 4 pm until 6 pm. For more information, contact the park office at (219) 873-1506.

Official Lighting of the Festival of Holiday Lights
Countdown just before 5 pm as all of the holiday lights in Washington Park are turned on at once! Lights are on every evening until early January. For more information, contact the park office at (219) 873-1506.
