Animals - Conservation

The Washington Park Zoo envisions itself as a wildlife conservation center for the community. By promoting conservation awareness we hope to ensure that resources such as plants, animals, water, even whole ecosystems, will be still available for future generations. Who we hope will be able to enjoy the beauty and the benefits of nature as we have. The zoo works in several areas to achieve this vision.

  • The Zoo works to conserve resources and operates in an environmentally responsible, efficient, safe manner.

  • The Zoo conducts conservation in breeding endangered animals and supports field conservation by purchasing park land for the endangered Asian Rhino.
