Directions to the zoo:

From Downtown Chicago - Approximately 66 miles

• Take I80/94 East or I90 East


• Exit on US 421 North (Exit 34B) - US 421 North turns into Franklin Street


• Take US 421/Franklin Street North through Michigan City until it dead ends in front of the public library


• Turn right on 4th Street and drive one block


• Turn left on Pine Street


• Follow past City Hall, over the bridge, to the zoo

From Southwest Michigan (Grand Rapids area)- Approximately 125 miles

• Take I-96 West


• Exit onto and follow I-94 West


• Exit and follow US-20 West (Exit 40B)


• Stay straight and go onto US 35 North (this is also Michigan Boulevard)


• Turn left (west) on Highway 12


• Follow Route 12 southwest into Michigan City


• As you enter town, pass through two traffic lights


• After the overpass, turn right onto Pine Street


• Follow Pine Street over the bridge to the zoo

• Take I-65 North
