The Barker Mansion serves as a tribute to the Barker family's philanthropy. It features original rare woods and furniture, impressive collections of books and paintings, and a third-story ballroom where the Barkers entertained in royal fashion.

The Washington Park Zoo houses more than 200 species of animals. The Rotary Children's Castle is filled with educational displays for children to learn and enjoy. A special attraction at the Zoo is the observation tower which gives a bird's eye view of Michigan City, and the Lake Michigan shoreline.
