If you are a resident of a subsidized housing complex or home, please notify your property manager ASAP of any income updates.  Documents verifying household changes can be placed in our drop box until a change form can be completed

Public Housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Public Housing comes in all sizes and types, from scattered site single-family units to multi-unit apartment buildings. The Housing Authority owns 35 dwelling units in Michigan City that are rented to low-income families and seniors. Families pay 30% of their gross adjusted income for rent and utilities.

Public Housing Maintenance

The Michigan City Housing Authority Public Housing Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining all MCHA owned properties by completing routine and emergency work orders called in by residents, as well as vacancy preparation, grounds maintenance and systems work at our family and elderly developments.
